Ferme Tamassine: a training farm at the heart of nature
Since 2008, Tamassine Farm has combined agroecology, sustainable production and Quranic learning to train and feed young people while caring for nature.
Our story
A training-farm project born near Tivaouane in 2008
Tamassine's socio-educational initiative is the fruit of a vision built around a training-farm project located on the outskirts of Tivaouane since 2008. The match between training, jobs and the integration of young people is a pressing question in Senegal in general, and in the Tivaouane area in particular.
Tivaouane, despite its openness to modernity, remains the sanctuary of classical Islamic teaching. In this context, Tamassine stands as a model built on the triptych of Maodo's philosophy: jang, julli, bay — training, worship and production — to ensure a successful transition, by building professional qualification into the training curriculum.
Founded in 2011, the farm produces high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables on 5 expandable hectares. Drawing on its experience in sustainable agriculture and in training the ndongo daara, the boarders of the training farm, Tamassine is opening up to its surroundings.
